We missed our appointment with our bank due to the prolong service time. We told Edward upfront that we only have limited amount of time & needed to leave by 3 pm for other appointments. Your Service Dept informed me that out of the two recalled parts, one came in, the other will take one to two weeks. So, we allocated enough time to do this & we informed Edward that when the other part comes in, we don’t have any problem to bring the car back at that time. However, Edward made an unilateral decision, without checking with us, to replace the second item because the part became available as the intended customer did not pick it up. At 3:10 pm, I walked over to Edward’s desk, he looked puzzled at why I was at his desk. He checked on the status in his computer & told me “it looks like the car is ready & paperwork is being processed.”, then it took until 3:35 pm before we got the paperwork. It’s important for your service representative to communicate with the customer regarding status & change of workscope to make sure the customer can accommodate the change. I think Edward wanted to do good, but he didn’t take customer’s priority into consideration & totally missed the mark. We picked up the car at 3:45 pm, totally missed our appointment.
