Hello, Unfortunately, we had a terrible experience with Jasvir Singh and it has broken all trust and loyalty that was built here at this dealership. This isn’t the first time that we have had an unpleasant experience with Jasvir either, so hopefully our frustrations are understood. We had our 2017 Prius towed into the dealership on Saturday (6/27) due to an issue with the car’s battery. The car would not start and even though we jump started the car, it could not retain the charge overnight. The engine kept dying and we did not feel safe to drive it to the dealership. Prior to bringing the car into the dealership, my mother contacted the main number at Piercey Toyota to check if our warranty was still intact and if it covered the fees for checking and potentially replacing the battery. The service person on the phone informed us that our car was still under warranty and that we could get the battery checked without any additional fees. After this was confirmed, my mother came to the dealership on that Saturday to get the car checked out. Jasvir Singh was her advisor. She came in under the assumption that the diagnosis and checkup was going to be free since it was confirmed that the car was still under warranty. Jasvir gave my mom a hard time by saying that he does not know if the car is under warranty or not and decided to charge her $190 for a simple battery check. He didn’t bother to take a couple of minutes to check within the system to confirm if our car is under warranty. My mother who was confused by this interaction still assumed that the fee was going to be waived once it was confirmed that the car is still under warranty, signed the papers for a diagnosis on the car for $190. My mom came home and told me about the experience. I ended up calling the Toyota dealership at Steven’s Creek just to get another quote. Their service person also said that the battery checkup and replacement would be free since our car is still under warranty. They even told us that they are offering free battery inspections right now for cars that aren’t under warranty with the use of their coupon. So really, there should be no reason why there should be $190 fee for a car that is still under warranty. Fast forward to Monday (6/29), Jasvir informed us that there was nothing wrong with the battery itself. It just lost its charge and needed to be fully recharged in order to continue running stably. My mom then asked to confirm if there was going to be a fee for this diagnosis, which Jasvir said there was not going to be a fee. He then offered us a deal for three optional services which totaled $540. We declined this deal and decided to purchase these optional services at another time. Afterwards, Jasvir decided to charge us $190 for diagnosing the battery while stating that the diagnosis fee was only going to be waived if we purchased the three services. I was outraged about this and spoke to Jasvir over the phone. This was my first time speaking to him and it was painfully clear that he was trying to take advantage of my mother whose native language is not English. Even then, it was not my mother’s failure to understand him but the way he used vague terminology and argued semantics to try to scam us into paying something for something that did not warrant a fee. This was all confirmed MULTIPLE times with your service people and at a different Toyota dealership. Jasvir tried to tell me that the warranty only covers the fees if there was something wrong with the car which needs to be replaced. Since there was nothing wrong other than a dead battery, we had to be charged $190. So what he was trying to tell us is that even though our car is still under warranty, we have to pay if there’s no issue with the car but we don’t have to pay if there’s an issue. That is backwards logic and makes absolutely zero sense, especially since it contradicts everything else that we were told from the service people and the other dealership. Jasvir wanted me to call a different number to get this sorted out if we didn’t want to pay. I demanded the number and was going to call it to get this all sorted out. I am assuming he realized what a terrible advisor he was being as he quickly changed his entire tone and demeanor, now saying that he is willing to help us. In order to “keep us happy” and provide a “good service”, he was going to waive the fees. With his vague pattern of speech and the way he would hide information and not confirm anything (regarding the warranty), it just reeks of predatory behavior to take advantage of people. All in all, the fees were waived and we were able to pick up our car. We were going to file a complaint yesterday before we retrieved our car back but we were afraid it would somehow come back to Jasvir, in which case he might do something to damage our vehicle. That is how much the trust has been breached. Sadly, it is unlikely that we will ever come back to this dealership and our business will now be with the dealership in Steven’s Creek. This whole experience has been awful and it’s such a terrible way to treat a loyal customer. We even purchased a car at this very dealership in 2007 and we also go here for all of our maintenance checkups. To think that we would get treated this way is just unfathomable after all these years.

There was no sanitizing the cars when you returned them to the owners. Your employee who drove the car to customers was rude. There were no plastic covering the seats or floor mats. No sanitizing the car after he got off and before the customers got it. This will spread the virus.

The person who was getting the car for me was really slow. I waited 10 minutes after going out to wait. He brought out cars for people who started waiting for their cars after me, before mine.
