As a Toyota customer I was scammed. It is very disappointing that a dealership would have employees use deceitful practices to scam customers. I had came in for a replacement of a catalytic converter after it was stolen. I had filed a police report and spoke to other mechanics about having a catalytic converter stolen. After I left my vehicle at the dealer for inspection, I was informed over phone that the catalytic converter was indeed stolen and my grand total was around the 3500 dollar range. I paid over the phone and picked up my car afterwards. I thought my car troubles were over up until a few weeks later, my smog check was due and it didn’t pass due to an error with the catalytic converter. After checking in with Toyota, I find out they claimed they didn’t even add a catalytic converter but added an exhaust pipe for 2617.44 and with added fees and two gaskets the total was 3541.54. This is extremely deceitful as that is not what I was told I was purchasing over the phone. There must have been some error but instead I was gaslit. This is extremely frustrating, unprofessional and unacceptable. I would like to get further information from management about this incident.
