I visited Toyota today regarding a reported fuel system leak, and I was informed that the issue was caused by the gas cap gasket not sealing properly. The service team stated that this was due to a threading issue resulting from the gas cap not being closed correctly, which I strongly disagree with. I have owned multiple Toyota vehicles over the years, including a Corolla, and I have never experienced or been advised of an issue related to improper gas cap use. The current vehicle, a Camry, is relatively new and has been in my possession for around a year. Despite this, I was informed that the issue does not fall under warranty because it was classified as user error. I was charged $188 for the diagnostic evaluation, which I believe is unreasonable given that this appears to be a vehicle defect rather than an operational issue. I find it difficult to accept that improper use is being cited when I have a long history of owning Toyota vehicles without similar concerns.

Brent provided exceptional service-so much so that I drove from New Orleans to Lafayette essentially with very little brakes due to the great service at Hampton. Job was completed in one day including parts when was told minimum 2-3 weeks plus higher price at another dealership. I even only used the rental car for 2 days New Orleans and back!
