I give my experience this week with the service department at Airpark Jeep a zero, and I will never be back. I brought my car into the dealership and asked John Otero to look at what I was being told was a bent axel. I believed I had a bent axel because the top of the front passenger tire was slanted inward. After a few days John called me and said everything was good to go, and that any issues would have to be fixed by buying an “after market ball joint package.” I proceeded to ask John about the slanted wheel, and he told me the wheel was “within specs.” I found it weird that John was essentially saying that Jeep build vehicles without wheels that are strait up and down. I could see that our conversation was going nowhere, so I agreed to come pick up my vehicle. When I arrived at the dealership, I proceeded to question John if he had seen the wheel, and he told me he had not looked at the car. He again told me that the slant of the wheel was within vehicle specs, and that there was no additional issues or wear and tear the slanting tire would cause on the vehicle. When the vehicle pulled up, I asked John to come outside and finally look at the car he was speaking about. As soon as John looked at the car he said “oh yah, it’s bent.” John then said he needed to go back and talk to the shop foreman, which I believe he did. John told me that his boss and the shop Forman had dealt with my Jeep, and that he would have to talk with them. Once he came back, John admitted that the shop foreman had confirmed the axel was bent and needed to be replaced. He also confirmed my tire would take severe wear and tear since the wheel was slanted.
This was an absolutely embarrassing look for Airpark Jeep’s service department and shop foreman. Why would Airpark Jeep’s representatives flat out lie to me? This does not seem like a practice Jeep would like it’s dealerships to engage in? It appears that not only did your service representative John Otero lie to my face, but as he stated to me, his boss and the shop foreman were aware of and looked at the vehicle. I would like a call from the general manager of Airpark Jeep to discuss.
