Interesting Facts About Lamborghini Trattori S.p.A

AutoRepair-Review interesting facts about lamborghini trattori s.p.aLamborghini is a brand that is renowned for building the finest automobiles in the world, right alongside other great Italian carmakers such as Bugatti, Ferrari, Maserati and Alfa Romeo, just to name a few.

At Jerry's Chevrolet Inc, we respect well-made cars and when we see one in Leesburg, VA we always stop to take a second look or two. A Lamborghini is one of those types of cars, so here are some interesting and hopefully entertaining facts about this prestigious car manufacturer.

The originator of Lamborghini S.p.A. Ferruccio Lamborghini had a tractor company long before he started making incredible cars. The story of how he got into the car manufacturing industry is intriguing. It all began due to his frustrations about a Ferrari that he bought which eventually led to a series of insults leveled by Enzo Ferrari, the founder of the world-class Ferrari brand.

With a lifelong passion for automotive engines, Ferruccio Lamborghini served with the Air Force mechanics corps during World War II,  and became well-known for being a genius for knowing how to fix just about any engine made.

When WWII ended, Ferruccio established a little vehicle and motorcycle repair shop in northern Italy. He came up with a brilliant idea was to purchase surplus military machines and turn them into tractors, which were needed to be used in post-war farms throughout Europe.  At first, it was a small operation as Lamborghini built an average of 1-2 tractors every month. But, with his mechanical skills, the business quickly became unbelievably successful, enabling Lamborghini to expand his business to manufacturing oil-burning heaters and air conditioning units for primarily commercial buildings in 1960.

With millions of liras in his pockets, Lamborghini decided to build his own automobile with a V12 engine, so he opened a factory in the small town of Sant’Agata. Lamborghini hired three prominent Ferrari’s ex-employees Giotto Bizzarini, Franco Scaglione, and Gian Paolo Dallara to help him in design and logistics. Their goal was to create a luxury-class and powerful GT that could hit 150 mph on the Autostrada del Sole, the world-renowned Italian motorway that connects Milan with Naples. After tweaking and re-designing the vehicle, their final result was named the Lamborghini 350GT and the rest is automotive history!

So, the next time you see a Lamborghini as it hugs the road at high speeds and looks awesome from any angle, give some kudos for Ferruccio Lamborghini. He started in tractors and eventually made some of the finest cars on the planet.
