I live in Colorado almost 200 miles from the nearest Toyota Dealer. I happened to be in Colorado Springs when it was ready for the first service appointment on my 4-Runner about 3 1/2 years ago. It was my first Toyota and first new car in years. I know little about cars and had never had good communication with any service personnel. Somehow, by happy accident, Scott ended up being my advisor. Lucky me. He is great. I have never gone to any other dealer and I make the drive to Colorado Springs whenever I need service or have a problem with the car. Scott is professional, always helpful and gives me so much good advice about caring for the car. Just a nice thoughtful person. He has made my Toyota experience the best.

Price Gouging. Call to discuss a quote, immediately drops $100, turns out you should charge the correct amount from the get-go. Worst Toyota service center I've been to. Sarah did fine. Not her fault.

First off, I am unaware how staff schedules are handled, but I requested Ashley as my service advisor when booking my appointment online, as she has always been wonderful. Also, as a women that has been taken advantage of before regarding car maintenance, I am comfortable and prefer having her as my advisor. Instead I had Ian, and there was no mention of Ashley. I came in for an oil change, tire rotation, and wiper blade replacement ($262.80 total). I noted that the price seemed higher than usual, to which Ian said, “I’m sorry.” Feeling dismissed, I paid and left. Still feeling uncomfortable, I returned, talking to Ian again to understand a breakdown of the prices. Specifically, regarding the $148.92 in total labor and the labor for the wiper blades: $87.50. I was told from Ian that the price of labor was $175/hour and the $87.50 was half an hours worth of labor. Ian did not try to understand my concern on why I got charged $87.50 for wiper blade labor, but labor for oil change was $31.47 and labor for tire rotation was $29.95. The wiper blade labor was not an honest charge of labor time. Trying to talk to Ian, I was only interrupted as Ian simply repeated each labor charge and the total labor. Ian then said, “I can bring it down to $200 if you feel that was too high” (referring to the $262.80 total). Assuming that this was the only solution, I agreed to the random $62.80 refund that is not on my card statement yet, and was promptly sent on my way. It was overall obvious and sad that I was inappropriately charged for wiper blade labor. In the past three years I have been going here, I have never had a bad experience until now. I’m concerned that this is growing into an environment that is looking to take advantage of women and other individuals who may not know what to look for when reviewing their charges. I am hoping I do eventually receive the refund that I was told, and not have to go back into the dealership and advocate for myself all over again.
