When I called to make the oil change appointment, I had them note that I want them to check my Bluetooth because it was not pairing with my phone.
I called the day before my oil change appointment to ensure they had the note about the Bluetooth. she confirmed it was in there. When I dropped my car off for the oil change I asked again about checking the Bluetooth and the representative said she did not see a note. She then informed me it would be a $140 diagnostic fee. I asked if it was possible if someone took a minute or two to look at it as it may be something quick like they had done previously when I purchased the car. She said they would not know what is unless they ran a diagnostic which would incur the $140 fee. I Do not expect free labor but if it honestly took someone 90 seconds to check it, it’s disappointing that could not be done. I have a platinum warranty plan and I asked her if that would be covered. She said it depends on what the diagnostic test reveals, which I understand. I’m very unhappy though that I spoke with a representative twice before coming in to confirm the Bluetooth check And not one person mentioned the diagnostic fee. I feel like this was bad practice to spring it on me during my appointment check in. I declined the Bluetooth check as I was frustrated. I then then sat for 90 minutes and watched multiple staff walk around as I’m sure sales are slow during this time. It’s a shame that one or two of their minutes could not be spent seeing if a simple fix could be done for my Bluetooth. My oil change was finished around 45 minutes. I then watched it sit in the line of cars to be checked out 25 minutes. I asked how much longer and was told another 10 minutes for paperwork. Im not sure if there’s delays because of reduced staff due to corona but it’s disappointing that I watched my car sit there ready for 35 minutes but that there was no way to check out any quicker as the cars in front of me had to be processed. My tires and brakes were not checked during the oil change either. I had opted for the dealership versus my local mechanic because it’s traditionally better service and was hoping a quick peek at the Bluetooth would resolve my issue. I am disappointed that was not my experience.
