We purchased a 2016 f150 from McGrath trucks/Volvo in august 2019. We also purchased an extended warranty plan. Since purchasing the truck it has been in several times for the 4x4 not working. After finally diagnosing it myself they ordered the parts in April of 2021. On july 20,2021 while driving on the interstate the truck went into “limp mode” and said that it was overheated. I had it towed directly to McGrath. After a few days they told me “it should be done Monday (7/26). On Monday the 26th I hear nothing so I called McGrath only to be told that they didn’t have the staff or ability to diagnose or repair the truck and asked me where I wanted it towed. So I have them take it to old fashioned auto on Tuesday 7/27 and the guys at old fashioned informed me today 7/29 that the codes had been cleared by someone before it got to old fashioned. So now it cannot be diagnosed and we have to wait for the problem to happen again. This is completely unacceptable, my wife is 8.5 months pregnant and this is her primary vehicle. Meanwhile now I’ve paid for a tow, and a rental for the last week. The ball has been dropped on this one and I’m extremely frustrated, I paid for a 4x4 truck that hasn’t worked for 2 years, got the run around about it over and over, and now we have no idea when or where this thing is going to over heat again, possibly leaving my pregnant wife stranded, again. This needs to be made right! I should not have to pay for parts that should have been done before I took possession of the truck in 2019, especially since we pay for an extra warranty. I am trying to be patient, but this is becoming ridiculous and maddening. Please make this right. It’s costing me more money on a rental than the initial repair would have cost me if I had never brought it to mcgrath!

Well the terms we agreed on weren’t the best but that’s our fault. We agreed and signed. I was upset they sold us the car with the “Red” key only. Our sales rep John told us it’s “no big deal” and it just won’t let me drive over 110mph when in fact the speed limit was 70 mph and with alarms constantly going off, also limits on volume. We traveled from Miami so it was a long drive. John discounted $300 from the sale price of the vehicle because he said we could take it to the dealer in Miami to get the original “black” key remade. (Also an inconvenience). When I called the Miami dealer they said it was $350-$400 I believe plus cost of labor and said it was going to be about $700 probably. My husband called Mcgrath at that time and spoke to someone who told us to go BACK to Fort Myers and they will make the key for us at no cost. So, another drive BACK to Fort Myers and when i checked in the vehicle, we told her what the agreement was. That we were told there was no cost since we went back to them. She accepted the vehicle and when I was called to pick up the vehicle she hands me a bill. After we already told her we were told there would be no cost. And she tries to make me feel bad by saying they would have to take it out of my salesman’s pay. That’s pretty rude to even mention that to me. I refused to pay. And when she gave me the keys to my vehicle and we go inside we notice the coffee cup I had in the cup holder was now sitting on the center console leather part. I grabbed it and placed it in the cup holder again and noticed coffee dripping from the cup down to the leather. I grabbed a wipey and wiped it and it seemed to be stained now. The coffee that dripped had already sat on the leather for a while because it was dry and now it was stained. We told the lady in the service department who did take the car back in and tried to clean it off. Of course nothing worked and now I have a stain on my leather of a vehicle that I just bought a week prior. And it wasn’t even me that did it. She said she was going to contact the other dealer and call me and of course i never heard from her again. Are we happy with the vehicle? Yes. But not so much with these little details. After all the money you made off of us, it’s pretty ridiculous to be treated this way. Also, the car we bought had NO GAS. When we test drove it, John had to put $5.00 of gas in it. I told the gentleman that worked in the finance/warranty department that I signed the final papers with and he said, oh no don’t worry! We will fill it up for you. When we leave, john told him, no worries, I just gave your husband $30. $30 is barely half a tank. Also wasn’t offered a car wash, NOTHING that other dealers offer, gas and a car wash. I expected more from Volvo.
